Guest author, Augusta Fern

A regular series of guest authors will be gracing these pages and the first is a fairly new author, Augusta Fern, her first book is out with the second in the series due out in October of this year.

I will hand over to Augusta to introduce herself and her book.

Hi I am Augusta Fern, and my obsession with vampires started when I was ten years old, after my mother took me to see the film adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. From that night I have been in love with the fantastical notion of living forever while remaining young and possessing the ability to gain wealth with ease.  Who wouldn’t love that?  You would think that the requirement for drinking blood would deter me from these creatures, but it only made it more interesting to my young mind.
For years I read the books, Anne Rice, Laurell K. Hamilton, etc and watched the movies thriving on each and every vampire adaptation until ten years ago I decided to pen my own. At that time, I worked full time as a sales assistant for a software development company, married with one young child.  Somehow I found time to write and when I began to write I felt a rush of adrenaline, as if I couldn’t stop until it was all out, regardless of eating or some night sleeping.  I would wake in the middle of the night, pen and paper by the bed afraid I would forget if I didn’t write it then and there.  I know lots of writers who do that also, so I don’t feel strange.
After the economic downturn and I lost my job in software development I came back to my writing in hopes of possibly independently publishing.  A friend had done the same and graciously helped me through the process.  She created a monster, so to speak.  I’ve turned the one novel into a “series in progress”.  Revelations of Cian is available on the Amazon Kindle or through the kindle app on any smart phone.

The book;  Revelations of Cian

For nearly two thousand years Scottish warrior, Cian, has endured a life of immortality; falling through European history, leaving his deadly mark. After tiring of war and settling in New Orleans, post World War two; he mindlessly blocks his gifts while bounty hunting for the vampire Monarchy. In the modern age, Cian finally discovers the mate he realizes makes him want to experience humanity again but the unnatural attraction he has to her is unsettling. She and her children are pulled into his world, but little does he know, they are no strangers.

New Orleans’ self proclaimed vampire queen, Madliene, has plans of her own for Cian. However, his new found obsession hinders his allegiance to her majesty and her court. A deeply rooted conflict in the Big Easy brings elements of his past returning to aid him. However, in a dark time of deceit, his inability to trust has him questioning their motives…including his own.

Nice guest blog Augusta. I know what it’s like waking up in the middle of the night, writing things down, on my first book I was bleary eyed some days in work from lack of sleep. It’s worth it, though. Thanks for an interesting bio.
